David is someone I’ve held in high-regard for a number of years, so you can imagine how thrilled I was when he agreed to be interviewed for my little series.

For the uninitiated, David builds great brands “from nothing, with next to nothing…”

He started his career at Saatchi & Saatchi, built and sold the clothing brand Howies and then moved back to his Welsh homeland where he bought the old, local denim factory and launched Hiut Denim.

To keep him busy, while he got it running, he co-founded The Do Lectures - now considered one of the top ‘idea festivals’ in the world.

He writes books. Good books (he wrote the only book on email marketing you’ll ever need), and if you’re lucky enough to attend his workshops, you’ll leave buzzing with ideas and actions.

He is unrelenting. Infact, it is this ability to turn a vision into reality that I admire most. He gets things done! It’s no wonder that Apple, Google and Red Bull have all booked him to speak to their teams.

Anyway, enough fawning… on to the questions.
